I had no idea I was so popular with the Democratic leadership. It's strange, because they never respond to me when I send them angry or urgent messages. But in the last six hours my mailbox has been flooded with 41 emails from various Democratic organizations and leaders:
Nancy Pelosi sent me five increasingly frantic messages informing me that the House is about to sue President Obama. The last one sobs that she's "pleading with" me. (Paul Begala is also pleading with me. I picture the two of them huddled together, plaintively wondering why I don't rush to their aid.) Joe Biden doesn't plead, but sent me four emails about the upcoming impeachment.
The DCCC informs me that I have inexplicably "missed" three emails from Democratic leaders. How they arrived at that low number I don't know - I've deleted at least two hundred unread over the past couple of weeks. One DCCC email harshly warned me that this is my "FINAL NOTICE!" Sadly it was not. Seven more followed from them in the next hour.
And of course one feature all these messages have in common is the handy list of options offered at the end for how much money I can give them.
I'm not usually one to be upset about spam. But when the spam from one organization makes up more than half the volume of mail in my inbox, things are getting out of hand.
